Cheesy Mini Pizza Burgers

A fun mashup of juicy cheeseburgers and pepperoni pizza, these mini burgers are topped with pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, and your favorite pizza fixings. Perfect for parties, game nights, or an easy family dinner.

Yield: About 8–10 mini burgers (depending on patty size)
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients

For the patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular, to taste)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

For assembly

  • 8–10 mini burger buns (soft, tender)

  • ½ cup pizza sauce (store‑bought or homemade)

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Optional toppings: sliced pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers

Instructions

1. Make the patties
In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently with your hands – don’t overwork, or the patties will be tough. Divide the meat into equal portions and shape into small patties slightly wider than the buns (they’ll shrink as they cook).

2. Cook the patties
Heat a lightly oiled skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until browned and fully cooked. Transfer to a plate and let rest for a few minutes so the juices redistribute.

3. Prep the buns
If your buns aren’t pre‑sliced, cut them in half. Lightly toast the cut sides in the same pan or under a broiler – this adds flavor and prevents sogginess.

4. Assemble the burgers
Place the bottom buns on a baking sheet. Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each. Top with a cooked patty, then another spoonful of sauce. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella. Add any optional toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, etc.). Cap with the top buns.

5. Melt the cheese
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the assembled burgers for 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Serving suggestions

  • Serve hot with fries, potato wedges, or a crisp side salad.

  • Offer extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.

  • Great as a main dish or a hearty appetizer – easy to double for parties.

Tip: These mini burgers are endlessly customizable. Swap in cheddar or provolone, add red pepper flakes for heat, or use turkey or plant‑based crumbles instead of beef.
