Ginger, Onion, Garlic, Lemon & Honey Wellness Blend
Makes about 1½ cups
This simple blend brings together five kitchen staples known for their immune-supporting and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s easy to prepare and can be used as a daily tonic, added to teas, or incorporated into dressings and marinades.
Ingredients
½ cup fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
½ cup onion, roughly chopped
½ cup garlic cloves, peeled (about 1½ heads)
½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
½ cup raw honey (or to taste)
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients – Peel the ginger and garlic. Chop the onion into large pieces so they blend easily.
Blend – Combine the ginger, onion, garlic, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
Strain (optional) – For a smoother syrup, strain the mixture through a fine‑mesh sieve, pressing with a spoon to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
Add honey – Transfer the liquid to a clean jar. Stir in the honey until fully dissolved. If you prefer a thicker consistency, use less honey or add it gradually to taste.
Store – Seal the jar and refrigerate. The blend will keep for up to 2 weeks.
How to Use
Daily wellness shot – Take 1 tablespoon in the morning, either alone or diluted with a little water.
Soothing tea – Stir 1 tablespoon into a cup of hot water; add a slice of lemon if desired.
Salad dressing base – Mix 2 tablespoons with olive oil, salt, and pepper for a vibrant dressing.
Marinade – Use as a marinade for chicken, fish, or tofu before cooking.
Important Notes
Strong flavor – This blend is potent. Start with a smaller amount (1 teaspoon) to see how your body responds.
Medication interactions – Garlic, ginger, and honey can interact with blood thinners, diabetes medications, and other drugs. If you take any medications or have a medical condition, consult your healthcare provider before using this blend regularly.
Not a cure – While these ingredients have traditional uses for wellness, this blend is not a substitute for medical treatment.
Tips & Variations
Milder taste – Reduce the garlic or onion, or add an extra 2–3 tablespoons of honey.
With turmeric – Add 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric or a small piece of fresh turmeric root when blending for additional anti-inflammatory benefits.
Spicy kick – Include a small piece of fresh jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Make smaller batches – Cut the recipe in half if you prefer to use it fresh within a week.
This wellness blend is a simple way to incorporate powerful natural ingredients into your daily routine—just remember to listen to your body and use it as part of a balanced lifestyle.
