Decadent Pecan Cream Pie

This Pecan Cream Pie offers a rich, no-bake alternative to the classic corn syrup version. With the silky, tangy texture of cheesecake lightened by homemade whipped cream and the warm, earthy sweetness of maple syrup, every bite is smooth, nutty, and perfectly balanced. Finely chopped pecans folded throughout the filling add a satisfying crunch.

Yields: 8 servings
Prep time: 25 minutes
Chill time: At least 2 hours (or overnight)

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

For the Filling & Topping:

  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened

  • 1 ½ cups pecans, finely chopped (divided)

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup

  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Blind bake the pie crust according to the package directions (or your favorite recipe). Allow it to cool completely before filling.

  2. Whip the Cream: In a chilled bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.

  3. Make the Creamy Base: In a separate large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, brown sugar, salt, and maple syrup together until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

  4. Combine the Filling: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until just combined and no white streaks remain. Be careful not to deflate the cream. Next, fold in 1 cup of the finely chopped pecans until evenly distributed.

  5. Assemble the Pie: Spoon the filling into the cooled pie crust and spread it into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of finely chopped pecans over the top for garnish.

  6. Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow it to set firmly. This resting time is essential for clean, beautiful slices.

  7. Serve: Slice, serve chilled, and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Pie

  • Softened Cream Cheese is Key: Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature before beating. This prevents lumps and creates a silky-smooth filling.

  • Chill Your Bowl: For the best results when whipping cream, chill your mixing bowl and beaters for 10-15 minutes beforehand.

  • Storage: Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
