Creamy Chipped Beef Cheese Ball

This timeless savory appetizer is always a crowd-pleaser, pairing the salty richness of dried beef with smooth cream cheese and the fresh, zesty bite of green onions. Perfect for holiday parties, game day, or any gathering, it comes together in minutes and never fails to disappear fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 package (8 oz) chipped dried beef, finely chopped

  • 3 stalks green onions, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

  • 1½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt, to taste (optional)

  • Ritz crackers, for serving

Instructions

1. Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped dried beef, and green onions. Use a wooden spoon or hand mixer to blend until smooth and fully incorporated.

2. Season

Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well. Taste before adding salt, as the dried beef is already quite salty. Adjust seasonings if desired.

3. Shape & Chill

Transfer the mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Wrap tightly and shape into a firm, round ball using your hands. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to firm up.

4. Garnish & Serve

Unwrap and place the cheese ball on a serving plate. Optionally, roll it in extra chopped green onions for added color and freshness. Serve with Ritz crackers or your favorite crackers and vegetables.

Storage Tip:
The cheese ball can be made up to two days ahead. Keep wrapped in plastic in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Enjoy this creamy, savory, and slightly salty treat—a classic that always feels like home.
